Installation of 2 ‘Rainwater Harvesting’ Tanks

We chose to install 2 large 650 Litre capacity Water Storage tanks. These have a sealed top, preventing light, bacteria and insects from entering and increased safety for our younger visitors.   They are of larger capacity (3X) than traditional garden water tanks, providing water for longer during droughts.

The tanks will provide water for watering plants both inside and out as well providing us with a free source of water for cleaning equipment (we don’t need to use treated drinking water for these things).

Conversion of internal ‘traditional’ taps to Push Taps

The average Screw Head Tap will deliver approx 12ltrs per minute when turned partially on.  On average a tap is left on for 15 seconds.   Push taps should cut down our water use by turning taps off after a short while, and by never allowing a tap to be left running, as sometimes does happen.
We will also be saving energy costs on the heating of the hot water.
